Perjury Is A Felony

If you testify in a judicial proceeding, you have to swear under oath to tell the truth.  This oath requires you to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.  If you violate this oath in sworn testimony, you’re guilty of the crime of perjury: deliberately giving false or misleading testimony under oath.
