UNR Lawyers Desperate Tactics Fall Flat

As discovery in the case was coming to a close the UNR attorneys listed the names of every person they could possibly think of as potential witnesses in the case.

The idea was to rattle her into thinking that they had someone listed who would say something bad about her. When we reviewed the list we had several good laughs.

For starters, they listed a number of student-athletes who were supposedly going to testify about her character.  However, one problem ... she had never met nearly half of those listed. They never played for her.

This was the first clue how desperate and hurried the UNR lawyers were.

The best laugh was when the lawyers told us they wanted to schedule a certain individual for a deposition.  They claimed that this person had lots to say.

We said no problem, just give us plenty of time for cross-examination.  We were looking forward to it.   Guess what . . . the deposition was suddenly canceled.

So was this person going to testify and then backed out when they found out they were going to be cross-examined?  Or did the UNR lawyers lie about this person's willingness to testify for them in the first place?

Regardless, it is clear that either this person or the lawyers (or both) knew this person's credibility could not stand up to cross-examination.
