Another University That Won't Touch A Corrupt A. D.

Kansas University is searching for a new Athletic Director after Lew Perkins resigned the position last month, amid a scandal in their athletic department.

Kansas Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little said the university would be looking for a new athletics director with experience, integrity and a style that relates well to people.

Well, that criteria immediately knocks Nevada Athletic Director Cary Groth out of consideration.

Unfortunately, there is not another university out there that will touch an A.D. with Groth's criminal history.

Any self-respecting university president would not want a criminal at the helm of their athletic department.

As for Groth's comments a few months back that she interviewed at the University of Oregon . . . rest assured that Oregon's search committee knew about Groth's criminal misconduct at Nevada.

As deftly spelled out by RGJ writer Dan Hinxman, Groth was an affirmative action interview at Oregon.
