The Motivation Of A.D. Cary Groth's "Watchful Eyes"
In the post below, "Nevada Athletic Director Cary Groth's 'Watchful Eyes'", we mentioned that we would elaborate on the motivation of those newly implicated by Groth in stalking our alleged whereabouts:
Assistant to the A.D. Andrea Pearson is/was the administrative assistant of both Groth and Cindy Fox. Andrea is also close friends with Fox. Suffice to say her motive is to protect her pal and boss.
Head Track Coach Shantel Twiggs followed Groth to Nevada from Northern Illinois. Need we say more?
Twiggs took over a championship program and managed to lead it to a last place conference finish. She has to be the only coach in the nation who has managed to retain her job after a first to worst performance.
But as we know, Groth hires and retains friends at the expense of success and merit. Groth's motto: Student-athletes be damned! Twiggs knows her job security is dependant on Groth.
Twiggs is also at the center of claims in a pending case. This meant that Twiggs was a topic of questioning with administrators during their depositions. Based on Twiggs demeanor at her own deposition, it is clear that she knew her misconduct on the job was being exposed in these depositions.
Director of Men's Basketball Operations Zac Claus worked previously under then-Head Coach Mark Fox and remained in his position when David Carter was promoted to replace Fox.
Zac knows that we know that the basketball staff violated NCAA rules under Mark Fox. Knowing that Carter worked under Fox, we are not holding our breath that things have changed.
So Zac is likely playing spy guy for Groth because he knows that if the basketball staff were caught committing major NCAA violations they could all be out of jobs. Self-preservation.
