A Lesson Learned Too Late For Cindy Fox

We have been following an ongoing story involving Kansas University ... a ticket-theft scheme and conspiracy that cost the athletic department at least $2 million.

Four Kansas athletic department employees have been sentenced to prison (a fifth will be sentenced later).

Two other employees received two years probation after pleading guilty of failing to notify authorities about the scam that they knew was occurring. They also have to pay restitution.

Charlette Blubaugh, a former Associate Athletic Director, was the most recent to be sentenced.  She received a 57-month prison term after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

She
must also spend three years on supervised release once she’s released from custody, plus pay a total of $2.56 million in restitution to the athletic department and the IRS.

Blubaugh requested to delay her prison term so that she could raise her two young children while husband served his 46-month prison term for his role in the tickets scam.  The Judge denied her request.

Former Associate Athletic Director Cindy Fox committed several felonies during and after her employment with the Nevada ... without regard for her young children's futures.

The Blubaugh lesson sadly came too late for Fox.
